Statistics and Custom Formulas
Nexalix provides a fully customisable statistics engine that turns your incident data into actionable insights. You can create custom dashboards, add widgets from a library of pre-built templates, and configure field tracking to monitor specific data points over time.
Dashboards
Section titled “Dashboards”Dashboards are the primary way to visualise your organisation’s operational data. Each dashboard is a collection of widgets arranged in a grid layout.
Creating a dashboard
Section titled “Creating a dashboard”- Go to Dashboard in the sidebar.
- Click the settings icon to open dashboard management.
- Click Create Dashboard.
- Enter a name and optional description.
- Toggle Default if you want this dashboard to load automatically when you open the Dashboard page.
- Click Save.
Adding widgets
Section titled “Adding widgets”- Open your dashboard and click Edit Mode.
- Click Add Widget to open the widget library.
- Browse available widget templates — these include:
- Incident count — Total incidents filtered by status, template, or date range.
- Resolution time — Average time to resolve incidents.
- Status breakdown — Pie or bar chart of incidents by current status.
- Incidents over time — Line chart showing incident volume trends.
- Top technicians — Ranking of team members by resolution count.
- Map overview — Geographic distribution of incidents.
- Custom field distribution — Breakdown of a custom field’s values.
- Select a template and configure its settings (date range, filters, display options).
- Click Add to place the widget on your dashboard.
Rearranging and resizing widgets
Section titled “Rearranging and resizing widgets”While in edit mode, you can drag widgets to reorder them and resize them by dragging the edges. Changes are saved automatically when you exit edit mode.
Field tracking
Section titled “Field tracking”Field tracking allows you to create custom statistics based on the values of incident custom fields. For example, if your incidents have a “Leak Type” dropdown, you can track how the distribution of leak types changes over time.
Setting up field tracking
Section titled “Setting up field tracking”- Go to Statistics in the sidebar.
- Click the Configuration tab.
- Click Add Tracking.
- Configure the tracking:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Template | Which incident template contains the field you want to track. |
| Field | The specific custom field to monitor. |
| Aggregation type | How to calculate the statistic: count, sum, average, minimum, or maximum. |
| Display name | A human-readable label for the statistic (e.g., “Leak Type Distribution”). |
| Status filter | Optionally restrict the calculation to incidents in a specific status. |
- Click Save.
Viewing tracked statistics
Section titled “Viewing tracked statistics”Tracked statistics appear as widgets on your statistics page. Each widget shows the aggregated data for the configured field, updated automatically as incidents are created or modified.
Time-based analysis
Section titled “Time-based analysis”Many widgets support time-based grouping, allowing you to view data by:
- Day — Granular view for recent activity.
- Week — Medium-term trends.
- Month — Long-term patterns and seasonal analysis.
- Year — Annual comparisons.
Select the time unit from the widget’s settings to change the grouping.
Best practices
Section titled “Best practices”- Create role-specific dashboards. A field supervisor needs different data than an executive. Create separate dashboards tailored to each audience.
- Start with the pre-built widgets. The widget library covers the most common metrics. Customise from there rather than building from scratch.
- Use field tracking for operational KPIs. If your organisation tracks specific metrics (e.g., water loss volume, road surface type), set up field tracking to monitor them over time.
- Review dashboards in team meetings. Dashboards are most valuable when they drive regular operational discussions, not when they are checked occasionally.
